Governor Tim Pawlenty named two of Minnesota’s flagship companies — Marvin Windows and Doors and Target Corp. — as the state’s first Yellow Ribbon Corporations in honor of their support for military service members and their families.
Marvin Windows and Doors, America’s premier maker of made-to-order wood and clad wood windows and doors, is committed to recruiting, recognizing and retaining military employees.
Marvin has a long history of supporting military employees and their families with various pre and post deployment initiatives and benefits. In addition, Marvin offers broad support to families while a military employee is deployed while continuing regular communication with the employee while they are away from home.
Marvin is a proud supporter of Warroad veteran organizations such as the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. The company also works with organizations such as HireVetsFirst to recruit veterans and allow them to learn, grow and put to use the skills they gained while serving their country.

The “Yellow Ribbon” designation comes from the Minnesota National Guard’s “Beyond the Yellow Ribbon” support and services program. The announcement came during the Governor’s Employment Summit in St. Paul, a gathering of dozens of business leaders designed to explore how they can support military veterans.
