Marvin Windows and Doors Media Room

There’s good news for homeowners looking to save energy while improving the comfort, beauty and value of their homes. The recently passed American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, popularly known as the “stimulus package,” offers a federal tax credit of up to $1,500 to homeowners who install new, energy-efficient windows and doors.

Replacing windows and doors with energy-efficient Marvin products qualifies for this tax credit. Marvin dealers can help homeowners choose the energy-efficient windows and doors that will qualify for the tax credit while giving them the style, durability and beauty they desire for their homes.

Marvin’s Ultimate Casement collection meets the tough energy efficiency requirements to qualify for a tax credit of up to $1,500 under the federal economic stimulus package.

These revolutionary windows feature Marvin’s exclusive “wash mode,” swiveling 140 degrees to let homeowners wash the outside of the window from inside the house.

And they come in a virtually endless variety of sizes, styles and finishes, including new round top and classic push out versions. Marvin casements also can be built to simulate any style of window, giving the performance of a modern casement with a classic architectural look.

Marvin’s Ultimate Casement already leads the market in beauty, performance and durability. Now these revolutionary windows can qualify homeowners for tax savings, too. For more information on the Ultimate Casement line, visit www.marvin.com.

How to Qualify for the Tax Credit
1. Replace old windows and doors with qualifying Marvin products between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010. Qualifying windows and doors must have a U-Factor and a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) equal to or lower than 0.30.
2. Save the purchase receipt and/or all NFRC/Energy Star labels from the windows and doors installed.
3. Submit IRS Tax Form 5695 when you file your taxes. The 2009 version of Form 5695 will be available in late 2009 or early 2010 on the Energy Star and IRS websites.

Details of the Tax Credit
1. Tax credit is based on 30% of the product cost of Marvin windows and doors, up to $1,500. Installation costs do not apply toward the credit.
2. The credit is available on projects completed in 2009 and 2010 for a total of $1,500 over the two year period.
3. The credit applies to the homeowner’s principal residence only.
4. A tax credit is a dollar-for-dollar reduction of your tax liability. Therefore, $1,500 can be subtracted directly from the amount of tax that is owed, or added to a tax refund.

While they let light in, they let money out. Straight out of your wallet into the Energy Companies hands. Here is an other article about energy efficient windows http://www.sierraclubgreenhome.com/go-green/windows-skylights-and-doors/windows-skylights-and-doors/

There are so many innovative products like this one with its wash mode, I’m glad to see that the government is helping to make them more affordable with their tax credits.
